Women in Prisons [article excerpt]
Vermont Phoenix, May 4, 1923, p. 17

Description

Research shows that, for many years, prisons were only for men. As criminality was reconstructed and then extended beyond male-crime, prisons had to be allocated and re-adjusted to account for female populations. Male prisoners' whereabouts always seemed to be of greater concern than female prisoners,' but with this came a new age of reforms/movements led by women.
